A701 was closed for five hours on Wednesday evening after the accident outside Amisfield.
Two people were taken to the hospital after a road accident in Dumavre and Galwai on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were called to A701 outside Amisfield at approximately 5 pm after a car and a car participated in a collision.
The road was closed for about five hours.

A police spokesman in Scotland said: “At approximately 5 pm on Wednesday, May 7, the police received a report on a collision on the A701 near Amisfield, which included a car and a car,” said a police spokesman in Scotland.
“The drivers, a man and a woman, respectively, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
“The road was reopened at about 9.50 pm and inquiries continued.”
A spokesman for the Scottish fire and rescue service said: “The operations controlled two devices to the scene of the accident, and two victims were removed from the vehicles and were transferred to sponsoring the Scottish ambulance service,” said a spokesman for the Scottish fire and rescue service.

“We have sent ambulances and the basics GP to the scene. We have taken patients to the Dumfries and Galloway Royal dispensary,” the Scottish ambulance spokesman added.
