Vatican sources told Sky News that Donald Trump had met Volodymyr Zelenskyy before the Pope’s funeral.
American presidents and the United States held a “very fruitful discussion”, according to a White House official, who also agreed to hold more talks after service.
They are among the world leaders, including Sir Kerr Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, who attend the funeral of Pope Francis.

The former British ambassador to Russia, Sir Tony Bernon, said this event provides diplomatic opportunities, including the “largest possible meeting” between Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelinski.
