The lecturer pays a “great” settlement to a former director of Burianla on the defaming tweets – The Irish Times

She paid a “great” university lecturer to a former director of Porsa, Portla, after she admitted the publication of defaming tweets, and the Supreme Court heard.

Development procedures were brought by Rachel Kenny, formerly director of planning at Board Playla, against Gavin Dali on Twitter posts published between 26 and 27 June 2023 – including one accused of bringing “removal” to the planning profession.

Tom Hogan, SC, told Mrs. Kenny, to Mr. Judge Alexander Owens on Tuesday that the case had settled and could come out.

As part of the settlement agreement, Louis Moni, to Mr. Daly, read an apology on behalf of his client to the court.

“She accused Mrs. Kenny of committing violations [of] Mr. Dali’s apology said:

“I would like to admit and confirm that my attack on Mrs. Kenny was without any basis, somewhat unfair and could not have been made.”

The apology confirmed that Mr. Dali paid Mrs. Kenny with a “large” amount in compensation “for the annoyance and the damage to her reputation with her legal costs.

The apology said: “I feel very sorry for not doing this sooner, but now I would like to apologize without reservation to Mrs. Kenny because of the damage and distress that I caused in my words.”

In the apology, Mr. Daly, from Cook Cook Lane, Smithfeld, Dublin 7, said that his tweets drew attention to the article of the Irish examiner related to the course of Mrs. Kenny as a manager for planning in Bordana.

In her procedures, Mrs. Kenny, from St. Andrew Gove, Malahid, Ko Dublin, said that Mr. Dali’s tweets were seriously injured in her reputation and caused her loss, damage, embarrassment and expenses.
