Former Minister of Government Badi Autul died at the age of 87.
The Mayo citizen, who held the position of Fine Gill TD from 1977 to 1987, died on Sunday night.
Mr. Otol has held a number of ministerial positions, including the Minister of Defense.
Tánaiste and Fine Gael Leader Simon Harris praised, describing the Mr. O Atoole as “a community man based on the place he served.”
“I was saddened to hear the death of the former Fine Gill Minister Badi Outol on Sunday evening in his hometown of May,” said Tanist.
“He was a former teacher at the Knockanillo National School outside Balina, and Badi was a man from society on the ground he served.
“Badi as minister of Gaeltacht, Minister of Tourism, Fisheries and Wealthy Fisheries, and indeed as my own predecessor, as Minister of Defense.
“My sympathy with his wife, Jacqueline, his children, Jacqueline, John, Badrig and Helen, his friends, and the people of May who loved and served him.
