A cryptocurrency investor was arrested and was charged with kidnapping a man and kept him in prison for weeks in the high -end Manhattan apartment, where the authorities said that he was beaten and shocked and led to the belief that his family was in danger if he did not give up the password of Bitcoin.
John and Woez, 37, was arrested on Friday night after the victim escaped from the city’s eight -bedroom home and informed the street officer in the street for help, according to the prosecutors.
Woeltz was summoned on the charge of kidnapping, assault, illegal imprisonment, and criminal possession of a firearm, and the records of the court appear. A spokesman for the Manhattan County Lawyer’s office was confirmed on Saturday, and it was ordered without bail on bail.
His lawyer, Wayne Josenil, said on Saturday in an email he had no comment.
