With a possible change in the tone of the upcoming federal government, as US President Donald Trump slapped the customs tariff for Canada, the Ford government is intensifying its efforts to build a road to the ring of fire.
The creation of a way to produce a mineral -rich area in North Ontario was on the Doug Ford tasks list, as it was first elected in 2018, but no little progress was made.
Now, with federal elections in full swing, Ontario sees a possible opportunity to move her long ambitions forward.
Prime Minister and liberal leader Mark Carney said he wanted to create a federal government to support state building projects if elected, with a one -option ring.
Conservative leader Pierre Pollyfry specifically promised to track work in the project. Jagmeet Singh, leader of the National Democratic Party, has not announced a policy for it so far.
As the Federal race continues, Ontario puts himself to make its stadium for the final winner – and moves to try to get the first local nations.
The road to the fire ring will be a huge technical mission that requires the purchase of local communities. The boycott is trying to fram the project as an opportunity not only for mining companies, but also to transform the economic wealth for everyone who lives in the region.

“So, this is a real opportunity to build these partnerships in a way that these societies can have better roads and economics and better access to health and various services and be an important part of developing the fire ring.”
While some local leaders appeared with regional politicians to support some projects related to the road, others organized the protests and condemned the way the government dealt with the consultations.
Ontario NDP MAN MAMAKWA said he did not believe that the Ford government was coming to the table with a real desire to solve the problems in the necessary area before agreeing on a cooperative approach to the ring of fire.
“They want to reach the existing resources (but) have no interest in dealing with housing, and they do not have any plans to treat nursing stations or secondary schools in the north and infrastructure,” he said in a separate interview with Focus Ontario.
“Mental health issues and addiction do not want to address these.”
“He never spoke to the commander of the first nations” in the Fire of Fire region, which was against its development. However, he admitted that “their expectations on how they occur” are different depending on what their community needs.
However, Ricohord offers economic grace that will come from huge – and possibly federal – construction in the region.
He said: “The old infrastructure required to support this type of global site is a great economic experience like a mine himself.”
“You are building a fast way mainly between Toronto and Montreal with these conditions. You should think, this is a lot of work. There are a lot of job opportunities before we are actually in the extraction activity.”
MAMKWA stressed that the way the government is going to deliver this is essential – and that if it is not a complete partnership, the boycott will face a serious recovery.
“I think that the rights holders, members of the first nation, and members of society are beginning to realize that governments are taking this approach,” he said.
“And I think that the more persecution, the more colonial the government, the more countries together, the more it will stand on them. I think this will happen and try to warn them of that but they do not listen.”
