Putin is trying to get time in talks with Ukraine, says the former French envoy to Russia

Ukraine and Russia have held their first direct talks in three years on Thursday, but Russian President Vladimir Putin exceeded them, after his Ukrainian counterpart Voludmir Zellinsky challenged a face -to -face meeting. Instead, a Russian delegation of the lowest level was sent to Istanbul for negotiations. After landing in Ankara to attend a meeting with Turkish President Ragab, Tayyip Ardogan, Zelensky was appointed to report if he would attend the talks, after he previously said he would participate only if Putin also did.
