New information has emerged on the expectations of the disputed buildings in the files that housing officials believe that the goal of 40,000 new homes will not be fulfilled until 2025, that is, one year after the government’s demands in the general elections.

After the survey on November 29, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael returned to power with independents after the campaigns on the basis that housing production was going on the right path to 40,000 new homes in 2024.

When the data published in January showed a decrease in delivery to 30330 last year from 32,525 in 2023, the opposition claimed that the voters had been misled.

It now refers to the internal housing reports of the Ministry of Interior of officials who warn of “uncertainty” in expectations 2024 – with the possibility of 40,000 births in 2025, not 2024.

A monthly report said in October to the Minister of Housing Darrag Operation: “While commentators have reduced the classification of expectations for 2024, it must be maintained in recent years, with 40,000 plus subversions in 2025,” said a monthly report in October to the Minister of Housing Darrag Operen.

Select the report 10 chosen 2024 forecasts, with everything less than two less than 40,000. Hoke & Macdonald auctions expected 40,000 completions and DAFT.IE 35,000-40,000, but eight others ranged between 30,000 and 37,000.

The report said: “The Central Bank, ESRI and Ireland Bank reviewed their expected completion for the year 2024 for the house down to 32,000 and 33,0000. However, there is still uncertainty in the final production of this year.”

The central bank said in September that production will decrease to 32,000, but government numbers continued to insist on 40,000 new homes.

The November report to Mr. O’Brien achieved almost the same points in October: “While commentators have reduced expectations for the year 2024, recent years should be maintained, with about 40,000 expectations by many commentators for 2025.”

There was no comment on such records from Mr. O’Brien, and he is now the Minister of Environment, Climate, Energy and Transport.

The documents were issued under the Freedom of Information Law.

While the response of the freedom of information separate from the Ministry of Taoiseach showed that the Housing Committee of the Council of Ministers does not have papers on delivery of housing from the pre -election period, a government spokesman said that no meetings were identified for the committee after the central bank’s expectations.

The spokesman said: “However, government members are discussing issues on a continuous basis and there were 19 notes separate from the Ministry of Housing discussed in the cabinet between the end of September and January 2025.”

“The central bank’s expectations were among a number of residential expectations that were held last year, and in previous years.”

The Housing Committee of the Council of Ministers was led by the elections by Taoiseach Simon Harris, then Tánaiste Micheál Martin. The other members were Mr. O’Brien, then Finance Minister Jacques Chambers, then Minister of Public spending Bashal Donuh and former ministers Emon Ryan and Hasher Humphrez.

The Irish Times sought to “any papers about the projections of housing output” for the committee between September and January. “I would like to inform you that no record has been determined within the range or your request request,” the department answered, citing a “comprehensive” research.

The request of any papers for Mr. Harris and Mr. Martin have fulfilled the central bank’s expectations and “any papers, reports or other analyzes” to produce housing the same response.

In response to a request to obtain ministerial files, the Ministry of Public spending said, “No relevant records have been found.” “We cannot locate the records,” said the Ministry of Environment, as Mr. Ryan was a minister. The Ministry of Social Protection, as Mrs. Humphrez, a minister, said that the records were “not present or could not be found.”

The Ministry of Finance was previously released, the October files, which officials said that the completion of 2024 is likely to be “similar or less” 2023.
