The previous anti -government protests that I saw in Israel since Hamas attacks on October 7 focused on getting hostages to the home, but this was different.

The Israeli police prevented the demonstrators before they reached the Gaza crossing, so they stood on the side of the road under the burning sun and shouted their slogan: “The war stopped!” The previous anti -government protests that I saw in Israel since Hamas attacks on October 7 focused on getting hostages to the home, but this was different.
People were carrying pictures of the hungry Ghazan children. “I can’t afford to be part of what is happening – they are starving and killing children,” said a woman in a pussy pussy with long gray hair. “My heart and my soul do not allow me to rest for a minute.” I read the banners: “not in my name”, “ending the war for all Sakes” and “resisting your sympathy.”
After the October 7 attacks, the Israeli left struggled to respond – how can they defend peace with the Palestinians after Hamas killed many Jews? But the earth turns. Many believe that the war was necessary to weaken Hamas, but the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has broken the ceasefire in March simply to maintain the support of its right -wing coalition partners. Now, they say, it is just a harsh and affiliated.

Among the speakers at the demonstration were Captain Ron Winner, a reserve guard who served in the Israeli army in Lebanon but refused to go to Gaza. The prison sentence is expected to start for 20 days on Monday. He said: “I do not think that I must be punished, but I do not regret it.” “The orders he received are not ethical. They do not serve the security interest of Israel. The only thing they will bring is more death for Israeli and civilian soldiers in Ghazan and more hostages.”

On the other side of the road, a small group of men was in red praying red hats. They are from Sdeot, an Israeli society that was often hit by the missiles fired from Gaza. Jadiel Shefartmann told me that the demonstrators were stupid because it was only the full reshaping of Gaza that will bring peace. “This is nonsense!” A voice shouted behind me. Avi Urbaz, wearing a yellow hat and carrying a destiny he used as a drum, through the road to protest. The two men started an argument.

“This war must stop!” Urubaz shouted.
“They must put their weapons!” She shouted.
“If we make another massacre on their massacre, there will be no peace!” Urubaz shouted.
“It is a long war and a person will surrender. This is the land of the Jewish people!” She shouted.
And so on until the two men agreed to the difference and shake his hands.
A few miles away, in Gabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip, men were digging through the ruins of a five -storey house that Israel struck in a night air strike. At least nine people were killed and included a child and a child. These hospitals, which are still working, are witnessing an increasing number of children with malnutrition.
“They are not anywhere. We do not go anywhere. We need to settle the relationship between us.”
