Holiday warning while vacationers were evacuated out of 500 out of 500 after a large fire in the French Alps resort erupted

A huge fire broke out in a skiing hotel overnight and forced 500 people, including the British, to flee the building.
Some guests are said to have lost “everything” in front of the fire – including ski equipment and all their clothes – which leads to a warning from the UK government.
Leaving the guests shivering in the snow only worn night clothes, then they were gathered in a local shelter sports center.
More than 90 firefighters and 40 FireTrucks fought the fire near the Albertille in the French Alps, which ignited about 2; 45 am Wednesday morning.
Bruno Charlotte, the local official, said 484 people were evacuated in just 15 minutes, with four hospital treatment needs.
He said: “In the end, four people were slightly injured, especially as a result of light smoke poisoning.”
Bruno added that three people had already left after verification.
Paul Taker, 76, was one of the British who fell in chaos.
He said: “People were rushing, but they were not panic, and we were outside the hotel within five minutes.”
And Jennifer Tesang is a local mother who helped people escape from the burning hotel.
She said: “They had to run to the sports center [where evacuated holidaymakers and staff were sheltered] In their bare feet.
“When I reached about 6 am, there were people in short pants and peaks, they had no coats, nothing.”
One of them on social media said that many advertising guests lost clothes and skiing equipment, and that some lost “everything.”
The fire damaged three quarters of the building.
It has been controlled, but it was not completely extinguished by mid -morning, and the smoke was still visible in the afternoon.
The police said that the fire was lit on the outer part of the building and spread to the roof.
The cause of the fire remains a mystery, but the investigation of its origin continues.
Kabosin Coro, 45, from Luxembourg, said her husband “heard a kind of explosion at about 2.30 in the morning, or at least high sound” at the hotel.
The UK government said it was familiar with fire on the travel advice page abroad.
Its statement said: “There is an ongoing incident after a fire on April 9th at the La Plagne Resort, in the Alps.
“If you are in the area or plan to travel to the area, follow the advice of the local authorities and check the advice of the tour of the tour of the tour.”
The British Ambassador to France thanked Mrs. Mina Rolling, the local authorities for “the rapid and effective work, which certainly saved lives during the night.”

Local authorities said they expect new rooms to be found for everyone who escaped from the hotel by Wednesday.
“We have created a housing system in various housing in the Baljen Resort, and even in other resorts,” said Jean -Luke Bush, mayor of La Blageen.
