Head teacher charged on wounding allegation

A headteacher has been charged after an alleged assault at a school in Neath Port Talbot.

South Wales Police said they were called to St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Comprehensive in Aberavon on Wednesday morning.

Anthony Felton, 54, who according to a recent prospectus is the school’s headteacher, has been charged with attempted wounding with intent.

He remains in police custody and is due to appear before a court this morning.

The 51-year-old victim has been discharged from hospital with minor injuries.
