Mr. DePardieu was not in court to judge. His lawyer, Jeremy Ajour, said he would resume.

The referee was welcomed by the victim’s lawyer as a prominent victory for French women in the #Metoo world.

“For me, it is a victory, really,” said one of the two victims, who agreed to identify it only with its first name, Ameli. “We are moving forward.”

Her lawyer, Karen Dorio Despewt, said she hopes that the verdict will mean “the end of impunity for artists in the film industry.”

“I have heard some actors who still support DePardieu recently. Now with this ruling, no one can say Gérard Depaardieu is not a sexual predator, and this is very important.”

The two victims made them on the movie “Les Volets Verts”, a French movie 2021 starring Mr. Depardieu – Amélie, as a specific decoration, and the other prosecutor, who did not agree to publicize it publicly, as an assistant director.

The court heard that Mr. DePardieu grabbed Amélie from the waist and pulled it towards it one day while sitting. Then he closed it between his legs and ran his hands on the buttocks and genitals and breasts while the researchers muttered.

The 34 -year -old assistant director has witnessed that the actor had touched her breasts and buttocks on three occasions in the group in Paris.

The judge called on his copy of coherent and consistent events and supported other evidence. Mr. Depaardieu, 76, denied sexual assaults in both cases.

The actor said that he was not “the vulgar, rude, and dictionary mocking the people” that were filmed as in the media. “I respect people. I love helping people,” he said to the court in March.

But he also said that he was of a different generation and that his character related to ingenuity and not apologizes was suitable for the current era.

From the beginning, it was clear that the experience was more than two sexual attacks by one of the most famous movie stars in France. What happened in court, instead, was part of a long -term account of the country’s obsession with seduction, the incomplete extension of its artists and delaying France in the #Metoo movement.

Mr. DePardieu is among the greatest French actors in his generation, and he starred in more than 230 films, including “Green Card” and “Cyrano De BergeraC”.

He shot fame after a starring in the movie “Les Valseuses” in 1974, where he played a small role in a small town wandering in France, car theft, sexual harassment and assault on women. He said that the film reflects its difficult upbringing in central France as a member of the cars stolen and whiskey and cigarette evading.

In 1978 and 1991, Mr. Depadieu told two different American journalists that he participated in the first rape of the gang at the age of nine, and “there was a lot after that.” Later, he said it was a translation error and part of an American distortion campaign against him. He said he was not raped by anyone, but he was talking about his sexual experiences.

In France, he was known for his biggest personality, a man who caused his car to recklessly and arrived at drunk film collections. Later, he was suffering from dictators like Fidel Castro and Aleksandr G. Lukashenko from BearusFrance abandoned Belgium and then Russia to avoid the tax on the wealthy.

He has been at the discussion center in France on the #Metoo movement since his arrival in the country in 2017, with sexual assault accusations against him. He denied the accusations and publicly defended by prominent and powerful people in the country.

More than 20 women accused him of sexual assault, most of them by talking to French news, especially the MediaPart investigation site. Six of these women filed complaints with the police – two of them were dropped because they exceeded the statute of limitations.

Among those who rushed to the defense of Mr. DePardieu over the years, President Emmanuel Macron of France, who condemned what he called “a hunt” against the actor, who said, “makes France proud.”

This was the first case against Mr. DePardieu for trial.

Three other women in cinema and television witnessed witnesses during the procedures, describing the scenes of the sexual assault they suffered while working with Mr. DePardieu.

One of them, Lusail Lider, said that the actor assaulted her several times when she worked as a fashion assistant in 2014.

She told the court: “I remembered a saying no in a low voice, but Gerard Depardio does not know this word,” she said to the court. “This man is dangerous,” she said. “Everyone around him knows this and does not do anything.”

Mr. DePardieu sits a cube -like stool during the trial, and he presented a study in confusion and distraction. Yaghgham, and wandered through semi -reviews, and disassembled ideas in the sentences. When asked about women, he prepared French psychoanalyst Jack Lacan, the hospitals he loved and Victor Hugo.

At some point, he admitted that he does not know what sexual assault is, saying that he should be “more dangerous” than just placing a hand on the woman’s buttocks.

“It is possible that it was very hot to get an erection on a group, as Amily described,” but obscenity was not directed to it. “

He told the court that he came from a different generation – he found his obscene and funny jokes – and that he would use the vulgar language on a group to annoy people and stir a reaction.

This era, and his time, said, ended.

He said: “I came from the ancient world, of course, and I am not sure whether this new world is concerned.”

He said that the #Metoo movement is likely to “become terrorism” and blame it for denying it for three years, although it was recently seen in photographing in Portugal.

The lawyer of Mr. Depardieu, Mr. Assous, has become a subject of almost public discussion, such as his client during the trial. The tactics of the courtroom and the defense strategy of Mr. Agent were condemned by more than 180 French lawyers in Piece of opinion In Le Monde as “sexual discrimination and hate”.

In a hearing before the trial, Mr. Assous said that the two victims were driven by greed. He also boycotted a loud voice from dozens of times, screaming that lawyers of the prosecutors were “debtors”, “stupid” and “hysterical”, and condemning the trial as “Stalinism”.

Both liars called on the plaintiffs, saying that one of them was not a “real victim.” “We do not believe you,” he said, ending one interrogation.

The court ruled that women had suffered from “secondary abuse” from Mr. Osus’s behavior during the trial, noting that the right to defend did not add legitimacy to “outrageous words and humiliation.” The damage gave the court included 1000 euros due to secondary abuse.
