Dalton Moor Farm will participate in SEAHAM at Open Farm Sunday on June 8, a national event where the farmer throughout the country invites visitors to see the work that farmers do.
This event is supported by the Dalton Mooor Farm, which will allow visitors to see how award -winning farm between old styles and future agricultural technologies.
Visitors will be able to speak to the owner, Dr. Jenny Connor and her team to identify plant agriculture and the work that was implemented on the Dalton Moore farm, as well as their commitment to the environment.
Guests can tour the farm and learn about each area, with the natural sounds of birds, loud bees and butterflies in the background.
There will be a test for visitors, and adults can try their hands in Scything.
They can also see small tractors and other machines used on the farm.
Dr. Connor said: “We hope that everyone who comes with a greater understanding of agriculture will leave, how the growing food affects the countryside and our health, and how we can all work together to protect the future of nature and ourselves.
“We will explain what you mean being a plant farm, how we work in harmony with nature to develop fruits, herbs and natural materials, how we supported the return of the wilderness and wildlife on the farm, what we mean by sustainable agriculture, the products we host, the activities that we host, the opportunities we provide, our plans for the future, and how to participate.”
The small Dalton Moor Farm store will also be open, as it sells products including the plant “Hunny” of the farm and apple juice in its orchards.
The event will continue from 11 am to 4 pm and it is free to attend.
Open Farm Sunday is managed by Leaf (Environment and Agriculture), a charity that enhances and supports the most sustainable agriculture to create a diet and a flexible cultivation for future generations.
“Open Farm Sunday is a great opportunity for visitors of all ages to approach agriculture and the people who are investigating this,” said Annabel Chalklton, Open Sunday director.
“Every event is unique, every different farm and every farmer as well, but what all shares it is a passion for agriculture, amazing experience, adherence to agriculture with nature and caring for the countryside.
“Some farms have been transferred across generations, and others are managed by those who chose agriculture as their professional profession; each has its own story that it tells, and the opening of Sunday farm is the ideal opportunity to attend and hear it.”
