The United States welcomes the allocation of President Santiago Benia, the Iranian Islamic Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, and the expansion of Paraguay’s 2019 terrorist labels of the armed wings of Zala and Hamas to include all these organizations.
Iran is still the main sponsor of terrorism in the world, and has funded and has many terrorist attacks and activities worldwide, through its IRGC-Qods and agents like Hizballah and Hamas. The important steps taken by Paraguay will help cut off the ability of the Iranian regime and its couscous to draw terrorist attacks and raise funds for its malicious and sustainable activity, including in the Terry border region Paraguay with Argelistina and Brazil.
The United States will continue to work with partners like Paraguay to counter global security threats. We call on all countries to hold the Iranian regime accountable and prevent and employ its agents and their agents from working in their lands.
