What is the map of the cryptocurrency world?

The map depicts the interest of searching for different metal currencies by country, with the data obtained from Google directions.

Google Trends normalizes search data to facilitate comparisons between terms. Thus, 60 % for bitcoin and 15 % for Ethereum means that the volume of “Bitcoin” is four times higher than “Ethereum”.

You can click on the coins at the top of the map to select. You can then compare it.

Main meals (2021)

• Bitcoin “research dominance” decreased in 2021 from 80 % to 60 %, but it is still the most inspected cryptocurrency in all countries.
• While “Ethereum” is the number 2 around the world, “Dogecoin” in the United States was almost twice the volume of research such as “Ethereum”.
• Compared to 2020, in the first ten places are “Bitcoin Cash”, “Monero” and “IOTA”
• South America seems to tend more towards Bitcoin while the East is more open to Altcoins
• In El Salvador 98 % of the search volume was about bitcoin.

Why some coins are missing?

The search for “Terra”, “Shiba Inu” or “Polygon” is mysterious because people are also looking for these terms in different contexts. “TON” may be played in data due to TON and Audi E-Tron movie

Also missing are metal currencies with insufficient search volume (<1 %) compared to bitcoin.
