This meeting is the second round of consultations since Minister Rubio’s agreement with his Russian counterpart; The first happened February 27.

Continuing the constructive approach placed at the February 27 meeting, American and Russian delegations exchanged notes to end an understanding to ensure the stability of the diplomatic banking of Russian bilateral missions and the United States. The United States has repeated its concerns about the policy of the Russian Federation prohibiting the employment of local employees, which is the main obstacle to maintaining stable and sustainable employment levels at the American embassy in Moscow.

The Deputy Assistant Minister of Secretary Coulter and Ambassador Darchev discussed a follow -up meeting on these issues in the short term, as needed, with the date, location and representation that will be determined.
