Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio and Foreign Minister Uzbekistan have met Bakhtour in Washington today, where the United States’ support for the independence of Uzbekistan, sovereignty, regional integrity and increasing US -American relations were reaffirmed. Secretary Rubio welcomed Uzbekistan’s decision to become a full member of the Global Alliance to defeat ISIS and thanked Uzbekistan for their efforts to facilitate the return of their phases from the United States. The United States is looking to work with Uzbekistan on updating safe nuclear energy technologies, enhancing investments between the two countries, and enhancing cooperation in critical minerals and other sectors to increase the strengthening of our strategic partnership.
