My girlfriend could not express herself – so she learned her mother tongue

I moved to my girlfriend, Era, I said loudly, “What is Libyan Dic.”

I didn’t even know the English translation – I just repeated it and asked, “Batel, what does this mean?” She looked at me, her eyes widely with surprise and pleasure, and said: “This means” I love you. ”

We have already said these words in English, but hearing them in their language added a layer of intimate relationship neither of us expected. German Era has recently started learning how to speak in her mother tongue.

We were crazy with each other from the beginning.

After matching the dating application in October 2022, we arranged for the meeting for a meal.

When she entered the restaurant, she was attracted to her immediately. When we got to chat, I realized that I had not met anyone like her before, because she was beautiful and smart and five languages ​​occurred.

In fact, her English was flawless and did not realize that she was initially German and was surprised when she told me. I invited her to eat after the meal and we stayed awake to chat and laugh until 2 am.

Our second history was in my house and attended with a bottle of Cachaca – the national drink of Brazil – because her father is Brazilian. We spent a great time in chatting, drinking and watching a movie.

Soon after our third history, again with each other, it returned to Germany for Christmas.

We did the face every day between an hour and three hours, and if you go without talking to it for at least an hour, it will be destroyed on a day.

After Christmas, we met again, spending a day in Wales. While we were holding our hands and enjoying watching the sunset, I felt that I was dropping for it.

One of the beautiful moments was especially when I gave me a studied gift from a cup and plate tea from a used store, inspired by a conversation we previously had about how much I loved him after seeing Pinterest.

After two months in Bradford, she gave me an envelope with a gift from some purple earrings, pen and paper. There was a box for the brand if you wanted to be exclusive – of course I was put on it.

The language barrier was never a problem thanks to how Iara was fluent, but then there was the day when everything changed for me – a moment that was reshaped not only our relationship but also who wanted to become.

Era had an annoying exchange with a friend about how they did not understand them, and there, for her in the same way she was for them – she did not go well.

She tried to tell me about that, but she was upset, crying, and fighting to express herself in English, her second language.

Her frustration and inability to completely communicate at that moment break my heart. I strongly wanted to communicate with her in her motherland, but I could not.

I felt that she was alone on this terrible island and I could not reach it.

On that day, I promised myself: I will learn German, fluently. I wanted to make sure that, regardless of the extent of her raw or overwhelming emotions, she can always express herself to me the way she felt more natural for her.

Therefore, I immediately started using online language lessons through Babbeel where you do 10 minutes every day for reading, writing and speaking, as well as watching TV programs and using GCES books.

Learning German has become its own love language. I started sending a message to the small things in German as I learned, and I saw her joy is all the motivation I needed.

The influence went to what we just exceeded. When I met her family – who spoke a little in English – the German emerging helped me to communicate with them at a deeper level. I managed to say, “I love your granddaughter, it’s very special.”

Not only did this committed to the Iara, but for its whole world-which is good, too, after the university, our relationship has become long.

Era was always intending to return to Germany after her studies, but I planned to move to it, and has already signed a lease contract, an apartment in Liverpool.

This distance was not important, in fact, every trip you feel the desire to open a new level in the game.

But the best part should still be the way her face illuminates when I speak German. The look of pride and love – it deserves every moment to spend in learning.

Language is not just words; It is a bridge, a promise, and a symbol of how much we are ready to go to the people we love.

I and Iara are often talking in German. Sometimes I still seem very official when I don’t want to be but I continue to learn new words and phrases more cross and colloquial terms to help with it.

I would like to be fluent, so I feel comfortable in the language and I can express myself the way I will do in English and look like me. Fortunately, it became easier, partly due to the fact that, in 2023, I moved to Germany with Iara.

We love living together in her country. It is very beautiful with high quality food and I have met some of the best people in my whole life by moving here and learning this language.

I even plan to do everything again and learn to speak Brazilian Portuguese – another language you speak – one day soon.

He taught me to be with Iara a lot, literally, and I look forward to our amazing multi -language future together.
