Responding to the Chinese military exercise near Taiwan

Once again, Chinese military activities and rhetoric towards Taiwan only exacerbate tensions, put the security of the region and flourish the world. In the face of intimidation tactics in China and the behavior of destabilization, the United States’s permanent commitment to our allies and partners, including Taiwan. The United States supports peace and stability throughout the Taiwan Strait and opposes unilateral changes in the current situation, including through strength or coercion.
