The firefighters returned to the Greater Jamal Portal after people were seen with barbecue parties days after the destroyed fire.

But a week after the Holcombe Hill fire, the crews were called again to the site last night (May 20).

Greater Manchester Fire and Resue Service has received a report on people with barbecues in the region.

The crew attended the scene at about 9 pm, but fortunately they managed to leave again after 20 minutes without any big accident.

“We want people to enjoy our countryside and Moreland in Greater Manchester, but our exciting campaign, which passes throughout the summer, remembers people to always behave while enjoying these environments,” said the station manager, Ady Taylor, bullets in firefighting fire service and national tactical advisor for forest fires.

“This means that there are no barbecues, fires, or fireworks – as they can easily lead to forest fires.

“Forest fires can spread quickly and cause destruction on Earth and wildlife on them, so it is extremely important for people to contact 999 as soon as they think they see a fire.”
