Today, it announced the appointment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to VIV ANSANM and Gran Grif as foreign terrorist organizations and the specially appointed global terrorists. The era of impunity for those who support violence in Haiti has ended.
Hilate gangs, including the VIV ANSANM and Gran Grif alliance, are the main source of instability and violence in Haiti. It is a direct threat to US national security services in our region. These gangs were killed and continued to attack the Haiti people, the Haiti Security Forces, and MSS security support employees (MSS), and they are committed to overthrowing the Haiti government. Their final goal is to create a country controlled by gangs, as it operates illegal trafficking and other criminal activities freely and intimidating the Haiti citizens. Terrorist appointments play an important role in our battle against these evil groups, which is an effective way to reduce support for their terrorist activities. Evolution in transactions with members of these groups requires risks with regard to anti -terrorist penalties, not only for Haitians but also for permanent legal population and American citizens. Individuals and entities that provide material support, federal animals, or Gran Grif may face criminal charges, inability or removal from the United States.
We commend the exceptional courage of the Hilate National Police and all international partners who support the MSS mission for their ongoing efforts to prove stability and security in Haiti. We urge all Haiti political leaders to give priority to the security of the Haiti people, find solutions to stop violence, and make progress towards restoring democracy through free and fair elections. The United States stands with the Haiti people where they are looking for a safe and stable future for their country and citizens.
