Two people and six others died in the hospital after the shooting on Thursday at Florida State University in Talhaasi.
The campus police said that the deceased was not students.
Lyon County Sharif Walter McNeel said that the alleged gunman was identified as a 20 -year -old FSU student Phoenix Ekinner. Mr. Ekinner was also shot by the police while he was in the hospital.
Mr. McNeel said that he is the son of Lyon, one of the weapons at the scene of the accident is a former service weapon bought by the armed mother, Jessica Ekinner, the school resources office for power for 18 years.

The police responded to the active shooter call around midday local time. A warning was released shortly after, students warning and those on campus “to get shelter and wait for more instructions.”
“One of my colleagues in the classroom got her phone and announced this for the rest of the class,” student Ava Arinado told CBS News MIAMI.
Another student, Blake Leonard, told CBS that he initially heard about 12 rounds launched.
“In my head, I believed that the construction was at first, until I looked behind me and saw people running from the union towards my direction, then I heard 12 or 15 shots exploding, so I started fleeing from there too.”
This is not the first shooting at Florida State University. In 2015, he graduated from the school and wounded three people in the library before it was shot by the police.
